Abstract

This study aims to analyze the frame strength of a bamboo slicing machine using Solidworks software. The machine is designed to facilitate the bamboo slicing process for small-scale industries, promoting sustainable and efficient bamboo utilization. By using finite element analysis (FEA) in Solidworks, this research evaluates maximum stress, deformation, and the safety factor under various operational loads. The simulation results show that the machine frame can withstand the applied loads with minimal deformation and a safety factor that meets the required standards. This analysis not only contributes to the improvement of bamboo slicing machine design but also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by enhancing local industrial capabilities and Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by encouraging sustainable material processing. These insights provide a foundation for future innovations in bamboo-based product manufacturing, aligning with efforts to promote sustainable production practices.
