Training Program for Making Natural Dishwashing Soap to Maintain Health and Environmental Cleanliness

Humans today cannot be separated from the need for cleaning products, one of which is dishwashing soap. However, the use of synthetic chemical cleaning products that are not environmentally friendly is increasingly worrying because they can have negative impacts on health and environmental sustainability. Therefore, a training program for making natural dishwashing soap was implemented with the aim of increasing community knowledge and skills in producing safe and environmentally friendly soap, as well as raising awareness of the importance of environmental conservation. This training was held at the Nurul Qadim Islamic Boarding School for three days, attended by 20 female students. This training consists of three main stages, namely the preparation stage, the implementation stage, and the evaluation stage. The first stage includes an introduction to natural ingredients and tools used in making dishwashing soap, as well as an explanation of the benefits and properties of each ingredient. The second stage involves a demonstration of soap making by the facilitator, followed by direct practice by the participants. The final stage is an evaluation of the product results, where the quality of the soap produced is tested and its impact on health and the environment is discussed. Based on the results obtained, 90% of the participants were able to make natural dishwashing soap according to the expected results, while the rest had little difficulty in making the product. This activity can certainly be used as an initial step in an effort to increase awareness of the importance of health and reduce the use of chemicals. Thus, this training program has succeeded in providing knowledge and skills and is expected to provide long-term impacts for the participants of the Nurul Qadim Islamic Boarding School.
