Abstract

Griya Bhayangkara Housing, situated in Masangan Kulon Village, Sukodono, Sidoarjo, frequently relies on water for various daily needs. While some residents use water supplied by PDAM (the local water authority), others depend on well water. However, residents often face issues with this well water, including cloudiness, yellow stains in bathrooms, white spots on kitchenware, and occasionally an unpleasant odor. These signs suggest that the water contains excessive metal content, which can compromise the quality of the water used by the community. Poor-quality clean water can negatively impact public health by leading to various illnesses. To address these issues and ensure access to clean water, implementing a Water Treatment System in Griya Bhayangkara Housing is essential. This initiative supports Indonesia’s green economy goals, which emphasize the creation of clean infrastructure and efficient resource management. It also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which focus on ensuring the availability and sustainable management of clean water and sanitation. The Water Treatment system employs filtration techniques to remove dirt, particles, and contaminants from the water, resulting in water that is clean, clear, colorless, and odorless. The treatment process includes several stages: Coagulation, Sedimentation, Filtration, Disinfection, and Final Reservoir. Essential tools and materials for this system include PVC pipes, water storage and filtration containers, and various materials such as coconut fiber, silica sand, darkon, japmat (mechanical filters), activated charcoal, and chlorine. These components are designed to purify well water. Ultimately, this system helps residents gain knowledge about water treatment and enhances the quality of their clean water supply. Based on the F test, the calculated f-count 17,483 > f-table 2,86, and the sig. Value is 0,00 < 0,05 indicating that the variables of Material Understanding (X1), Assembly Techniques (X2), Water Utilization (X3), Maintenance (X4), and Cost (X5) together influence the variable of making a Water Treatment System to Provide Clean Water (Y).
